Your probably scratching your head at the post heading, however when I was growing up, my parents always made my brother and I believe that a Doner kebab was actually an elephants leg, which absolutely horrified me and made my veggies seem just a tad more edible ! I have indeed inherited my parents warped sense of humour and have told my children such tales, which has helped me out several times….the Ice Cream van trick is a great tip to share ! When the Ice Cream Van used to arrive in our street, I would tell the children ” oh no, he is playing his music, which means he has run out of ice cream” I saved a fortune doing this, but it is very short lived !

Ok, so lets get back to why I am talking Kebabs ! Having spent several years in Turkey, I am a Turkish food enthusiast, as it is 50 shades of freaking delicious, but until recently I have not found anywhere decent in the South Wales area that can actually cook authentic Turkish food. Saray Restaurant on City road, Cardiff has been my Christmas and Birthday rolled into one, as not only does it produce some seriously tasty food, all made from scratch on the premises but it is not bad on wallet side of things.
